AUB Medical Center on fuel shortage |

[Beirut, 31-Jul-2006] Dr. Nadim Cortas '59, Head of the American University of Beirut Medical School, describes to ABC News the situation at AUH. There is not much time left before the lights will go out at the American University of Beirut Medical Center. Oil tankers ready to deliver the much-needed fuel are standing by in nearby waters, but they are being kept out by the Israel's blockade.
The hospital has only enough oil to fuel their generators for a maximum of 20 days, or as little as seven days if the state cuts off the little power it now provides, according to Dr. Nadim Cortas, Dean of the medical program. |

We are sorry to convey to you the sad news of the passing away of our dear Teacher, Senior Old Scholar and former member of the Old Scholars Association Executive Committee, Mr. Albert Kamel Abu Khalil.
The funeral will take place at the BHS Meeting House at 4 pm on Thursday 2nd of March 2006. Condolences will be received at his home in Brummana on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th of March 2006. |
