OSA General Assembly Keynote Speaker on 16 July, 2016

 

Kamal. A. Beyoghlow is Professor of International Politics and Cross Cultural Communication at the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University and Professor of Government at the American University in Washington D.C. 

 

He recently completed a two-year special assignment as the U.S. Department of State’s Principal Representative to President Obama’s Periodic Review Board tasked with reviewing the legal and political status of the detainees at the Guantanamo Naval Facility in Cuba. 

 

Professor Beyoghlow, a Brummana High School Old Scholar and a graduate of 1966, spent six years of his formative student life as a boarder at BHS.

 

He earned his undergraduate degree from San Diego State University, his Master’s degree from Tufts University in cooperation with the Fletcher School of International Law and Diplomacy, and his Ph.D. degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. 

 

He is the recipient of numerous U.S. Government and other awards and research grants.
