Update from OSA President - October 2024 #54
on Nov 29 2024
Dear Old Scholars,

I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones well and safe.

Sadly, Lebanon is currently enveloped in a period of significant socio-political unrest. Moreover, the challenging financial climate exacerbates these issues. Many families have been displaced, others are struggling to make ends meet, and businesses that once thrived are facing dire circumstances.

The situation is extremely dire, so much so, that we have seen an unprecedented number of financial aid applications being submitted to the OSA. For this academic year alone, we have received and processed around 100 applications so far, with many in the pipeline.

At this crucial juncture, I want to emphasize the urgent need for financial support from our Old Scholars around the world. Our school, its dedicated teachers, and the students who represent our future are in urgent need of our collective assistance. Your contributions can help ensure that educational programmes remain intact, resources are available for both teachers and students, and essential services continue to be provided.

You can donate through Bank Med:

On another note, we are working on a roadmap for the OSA Administrative Committee elections that should take place once the situation in Lebanon is better. I will be sending you an update on the election process in due course.

Until then, I thank you for your continued commitment to our alma mater and the OSA.

I Serve,
Nazih Khattar ‘66
President
